Obama support of public option wavering?

Today, a new poll in Ohio shows President Obama’s approval rate below 50 percent for the first time. Can it be due to the ambiguity surrounding his continued support of a public option for health insurance? His chief of staff, Rahm Emmanuel, made statements earlier this week which seemed to signal a willingness of the White House to compromise more than most progressives want.
Former Gov. Howard Dean (D-Vt.), interviewed on MSNBC today, was asked how strong the President’s commitment to a public option is. The full five minute interview follows.
The time for people to demand a public option is now. Contact your Senators and member of the House. Click here to find the name and address of yours, in the right hand column of our Advocacy page.

currently 71 % of Americans are happy with their health insurance. When a pres is up for reelection, if his numbers are that high he is almost certainly reelected. Yes changed certainly need to be made and many people cannot afford health insurance. lets have the govt first fix Medicare and Medicaid. then perhaps the people will put more faith in their abilities. My company (www.nyhealthinsurer.com) specializes in health insurance and we hear from consumers everyday indicating that something needs to be done because its just too costly as is stands now
