In the current eddition of the health care proposal my Tricare plan that I will have earned through my 20+ yrs of service, is going to be cancelled in favor of the "public option" because it is cheaper for the gov to run just one program. Well it might be cheaper for the gov, but it won't be for me. Part of the agreement between millitary members and their government is, if you give us twenty years of service, you will have a lifetime of benefits; not the least of which is quality affordable health care for ourselves and our immediate famillies. They now want to reduce the quality, raise the cost, and give it to anyone that hasn't put their contry before self.

Tricare is not RUN by the government but by private corporations. The government/military is the employer but the health care is not run by them. Yes it is funded by the government, but remember these are the men and women and their families that are protecting you!

Tricare is administered by private companies. It's also a third party payer. Tricare for Life requires billing through Medicare first.
