Give your member of Congress a 'health reform checkup' before the November elections.
Now that the Affordable Care Act is two years old, it’s time to give your member of Congress an annual checkup to see if he or she supports the legislation’s valuable consumer protections.
We’ve made it easy for you with HealthReformVotes.org – a new site that explains the key bills, and shows how each member voted. We’ve enhanced this with the elected officials’ stated positions on health care – including video of speeches when possible – and included links to any blog posts or news stories where we’ve mentioned them.
We will continue to update these resources through the fall elections. (And yes, your submissions are welcome).
Make sure to do your “public health” service by sharing the voting records of your members of Congress with your friends on Facebook, Twitter, Google+, LinkedIn or the social networking flavor of your choice. We’ve made it easy with a row of sharing buttons on each page.
But definitely share your feelings with your legislator as well. Next to your member’s photo you’ll find his or her contact information, including Facebook and Twitter accounts (when they have them). Make sure to send them some love – or perhaps brickbats if necessary.
