Progressive States Network – As Congress delays moving forward on the passage of comprehensive health care reform, progressive state leaders from across the country have been demanding passage of reform as critical for families across the nation. But that doesn’t mean they are waiting; state leaders are moving forward, laying the groundwork for how national changes should be implemented, and creating the momentum for other meaningful health care reforms in their states.

Honolulu Advertiser – Community health centers are bracing for a tough year and calling for more state help, as the economic downturn drives more uninsured to their doors.

Hawaii Reporter – Honolulu, Ha. – Lt. Governor James R. “Duke” Aiona, Jr. and Department of Human Services (DHS) Director Lillian Koller announced today that $14.4 million in new federal funding is being made available to Hawai’i's private and public hospitals to help defray the cost of caring them care for uninsured patients and other budget shortfalls.
