The Republic–New Hampshire’s state Senate is considering whether or not to give $333,000 in federal funding back to the federal government that would be used to plan a state-run health insurance exchange. The House voted to do so last month. The money is part of a $1 million grant; two thirds of it have already been spent.
Arkansas News–Arkansas’ legislature approved the use of $7.7 in federal funding to implement a state-run exchange. State Insurance Commissioner Jay Bradford says the grant allows his office to establish a partnership with the federal government allowing the state to have authority to regulate an exchange. “The grant is nothing more than a partnership agreement with the federal exchange,” he says.
