Health Wonk Review for December 17, 2015

2015 Holiday Edition

Ho! Ho! Ho! Our jolly leader, Julie Ferguson, has delivered a sleigh full of goodies in this week’s Holiday Edition of Health Wonk Review posted over at Workers Comp Insider.

(Thanks, Julie, for including’s latest post from Amy Lynn Smith instead of – you know – giving us a stocking full of coal.)

Stocking cap’s off to Julie for loading up the sleigh with Obamacare posts (and bonus points for the entertaining GIFs and for asking “all is calm, all is bright?”) It’s obviously not (calm or bright) – as evidenced by four posts that point out the simmering discontent from both supporters and detractors of the law.

I won’t completely reveal this week’s “gifts,” but I can’t resist tearing off a little corner of the wrapping paper. What’s this? Colorado Health Insurance Insider returns to the question of whether or not open enrollment for health insurance plans should end by December 31? Spoiler: Author Louise Norris has changed her mind on this issue.

You don’t have to wait for the rest of the family to wake up to dive into the rest of this week’s edition. Just head on over (the river and through the woods?) to Health Wonk Review.

See you next time, when Hank Stern hosts at InsureBlog on January 14.

Steve Anderson is editor and content manager for, where he’s been writing about health insurance and health reform since 2008. He’s been fortunate to have worked with a talented team of health policy writers.
